Australians love to put on their dancing shoes and get down with a boogie, with two-thirds of Aussies strutting their stuff at home, in classes, or at nightclubs.
I mean who doesn’t like to just “dance like no one is watching” to an absolute banger?
Just Dance 2023 Edition is out now and its creator, Ubisoft interestingly commissioned research of a nationally representative sample of Australians to uncover the dancing habits of Aussies, finding close to half want to dance more often no matter the setting. Younger Australians (aged 18-34) in particular have caught the dancing bug, with 59% stating that they want to dance more often.
So why do we love to dance?
While the majority of Australians dance just for fun or to feel good, Australians are also seeing the health benefits that dancing provides.
Particularly around the positive mental health benefits of being active through dance.
36% of Aussies use dancing as a way to socialise with friends and family (with younger Australians leading the charge at 43%), and 19% of Aussies believe dancing helps with mindfulness, particularly with Australians aged 35-54 (27%).
