Uber’s 2025 Lost & Found Index has dropped and, as always, it’s a hilarious, occasionally concerning, snapshot into what people leave behind after a ride. The list includes everything from the everyday to the utterly bizarre: mannequin heads, Viking horns, chainsaws, breast milk, and yes, even 10 live lobsters. A Ghostbusters ghost trap also made the cut. Apparently, some folks treat their ride like a mobile lounge room or an adventure pack.

Vice President of Operations Camiel Irving summed it up best: “From wayward mannequin heads to live lobsters, Uber riders have left behind some truly unforgettable items this year.”

Most Commonly Forgotten Items

While the wild list steals the spotlight, the basics still top the charts. Phones, keys, wallets, and headphones remain the most commonly forgotten items. In 2024, more than 1.7 million phones were left behind in Uber vehicles.

The Most Forgetful City and Day

New York City took the crown for the most forgetful city, while October 26, right in the thick of Halloween festivities, was dubbed the most forgetful day of the year. Most people lost their things late at night, particularly around 11 pm and midnight.

The index noted several curious trends:

  • Legal documents like court summons and divorce papers keep vanishing in back seats.
  • Food items include a bucket of beans, banana pudding, and 175 burgers from Shake Shack.
  • Wellness warriors lost pilates socks, yoga mats, and even bottles of Ozempic.
  • Apple products were the most misplaced brand, thanks to a hefty count of lost iPhones and AirPods.

Interestingly, even Disney merch (like Simba dolls and Minnie Mouse ears) and Eagles fan gear went walkabout, showing that people will lose just about anything if the ride’s eventful enough.

Uber’s Pop-Up for Lost Treasures

To celebrate the oddities, Uber hosted a quirky pop-up in Manhattan, showcasing some of the strangest forgotten items. Visitors could view replicas and enjoy free burgers — a nod to the 175 that once ended up in the back of an Uber.
