Tasmania’s had a solid victory over South Australia in the Shield cricket match in Adelaide, in large part thanks to Tigers opening batsman Caleb Jewell hitting an unbeaten 108 in the second innings run chase.
He was admirably assisted by fellow opener Tim Ward who was out for 60, having made 82 in Tasmania’s first innings.
But it was Tasmania’s 37 year old paceman Peter Siddle who won the Man of The Match award, taking 4 South Australian first innings wickets and then another 4 in their second innings.
Beau Webster also had an outstanding match for Tasmania, scoring a valuable 46 in the first innings and taking 4 for 39 with the ball in South Australia’s second innings.
The Tigers overhauled the victory target at 3 for 235.
