Ships to bring more than 3500 visitors to the region

Burnie and the North-West Coast will be buzzing with almost three and a half thousand international cruise ship passengers and crew over the next five days.

Three ships will pull into Burnie on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, with passengers and off-duty crew to spread out across the Coast from Stanley to Cradle Mountain, visiting local attractions, including the Don River Railway’s 50th anniversary event from Friday to Sunday.

First to tie up on Thursday will be the Regatta, with 684 passengers and 386 crew, followed by the Silver Muse on Friday, carrying 596 passengers and 411 crew.

The arrival of the Viking Venus on Sunday will wrap-up a busy five-day period, bringing in 930 passengers and 465 crew into the region.
