A man is due to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court today on a child sexual abuse charge.
Detectives from Northern Family and Sex Crimes Command travelled to Newcastle in NSW to extradite the 59-year-old man back to Tasmania.
He will face the charge of persistent sexual abuse of a child or young person relating to offences allegedly committed over a 9-year period from 2003 to 2012.
