There’s been more industrial action from Child Safety Workers who took to the front of state parliament in Hobart to press for a better deal.
They are enduring significant staff shortages causing overwhelming case loads and are also seeking wages in line with interstate standards.
Child Safety Support Worker John Britcliffe telling the gathering, Minister Roger Jaensch appears to be merely going through the motions.
“When he does speak it’s just largely and sadly empty rhetoric.”
Minister Roger Jaensch insists progress is being made.
“Our workforce package targets the areas of shortage and it seems to be working, we’ve got a recruitment drive underway now nationally, we’ve got over 100 people who’ve made applications who appear to have the relevant qualifications.”
