A 27-year-old man charged with murder earlier this week in Launceston will be back in court next month.
Newnham man William Craig Simmons didn’t enter a plea to a murder charge during a brief appearance in the Launceston Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
A Mowbray man in his 40s was taken to the Launceston General Hospital with stab injuries sustained in an altercation in Tompson’s Lane but didn’t survive.
Police are now investigating the relationship between the two but say they were known to each other.
Police say they’re looking into whether it is a case of family violence.
A woman and three teenagers were also inside the home at the time.
