The Devonport City Council is expected to approve a controversial $10 million social housing project proposed for the CBD in Fenton Street.
A development application from Housing Choices Tasmania lodged with the council, proposes a six-storey building with 30 units over five floors, with a commercial tenant on the ground floor, along with car parking on the ground level.
A total of 12 objections have been lodged on the project, which are included in a report to be tabled at Tuesday night’s monthly council meeting for January.
The proposal says the units will be a mix of two and three bedroom units with private terrace or balcony spaces attached to the living areas.
