Weindorfer Day in Wilmot

Weindorfer Day in Wilmot is approaching on the 4th of May 2025

This is the annual community event held in Wilmot to celebrate the legacy of Gustav and Kate Weindorfer. They are the enthusiastic pioneer conservationists whose work led to Cradle Mountain becoming a National Park, preserved forever “for the people of all time” as Gustav famously remarked.

This year new attractions include live music in Pioneer Park by Lee Brient, Nurture by Nature botanic art on silk and wool, Sacred Foods of the Cradle by Aunty Kris Schaffer, Vintage cars from Gustav’s era, great coffee and food. Games of yesteryear for all ages including hop scotch, marbles, quiots, skipping, knuckles and board games.

The Celebratory Service commences at 10am in the Wilmot Hall with a simple ceremony that includes the Mountain Echoes singers.
