Rally to include super special stage in Burnie

Details of Rally Tasmania in November have been released, including a spectacular 1.5 km twilight super special stage in the heart of Burnie.

The rally, on November 23rd and 24th, it the final round of the Australian Rally Championships, bringing the top rally crews in the country to the North-West Coast.

The super special stage will be held on vacant land adjacent to Bunnings at South Burnie on the former site of the Burnie Paper Mill. Rally headquarters will also be at South Burnie as the venue for the start each day and post-event podium on the Sunday.

Cars will be on display at a pre-event rally show on the Friday night near the Burnie CBD on North Terrace.

Teams will contest 10 stages on the Saturday and six stages on the Sunday in the forests near Oonah, Meunna, Mawbanna and Preolenna areas, covering almost 120 km of competition, with a major spectator village at Oldina.

The event will also incorporate rounds three and four of the Tasmanian Rally Championship.
