Influencer couple Matt and Abby Howard have found themselves at the centre of a social media storm after a family cruise decision that left many shaking their heads.
While on holiday with their young sons, Griffin and August, the couple shared on their TikTok that they left the kids alone in their cabin to enjoy a kid-free dinner. According to Abby’s expired Instagram story, the couple monitored their sleeping children through FaceTime, a move that sparked a wave of online outrage.
Critics were quick to slam the decision, with one TikToker saying, “What if you return from dinner and have no idea what’s happened?” Alarmed comments poured in, with some warning that such actions would land parents in hot water on dry land.

In their defence, a source close to the Howards claimed Abby’s family had adjacent cabins and were taking turns keeping an eye on the kids. They also said that the couple’s use of baby monitors added an extra layer of safety.
This isn’t the first time Matt and Abby have been caught in controversy. Earlier this year, they decided to skip celebrating Father’s Day because it clashed with Matt’s birthday, choosing to honour it months later instead.
